Kindly note: When a child learns how to play an instrument, they are first taught the notes and how to put them together to make music. It takes time to master the basics. Eventually, they can reproduce a melody or play a song. However, we don't teach them the notes and then ask them to compose their own music or write a symphony.

It is the same with learning how to draw. We teach the basics and how to put lines together to make a picture. Some children will become artists and most will eventually develop their own style. Others will feel comfortable staying within the boundaries of what is taught until they develop the confidence to try something on their own. For some, this takes months, for other it can take years. You can't force creativity, but you can provide an environment where it can flourish.
